Jay Marion Jones - 1925-2015

Jay Marion Jones, age 89, was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 14, 1925 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 08, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Lula Jones. He is also preceded in death by his son Clinton David Jones, two sisters: Vivian Nester, Sibyl Reese, and two half brothers. Jay is survived by his wife Geraldine Jones of 63 years, his son Daniel Jones and wife Janice, his daughter Lynne Krog and husband John, grandchildren; Ryan Jones and wife Lorraine, Zach Jones and wife Amber, John Krog III, Rachel McDougle and husband Jeremy, great grandchildren; Kendall McDougle, Kaleb McDougle, J. David Zuniga, Emma Jones, Noah Jones and Bryce Jones. As a child Jay was a Boy Scout. Jay graduated from Texas A&M University in 1951 with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering. He served in the United States Air Force and was employed with The Brown and Root Company. Jay loved to Bowl and he volunteered at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital for over twenty years. He was a member of Clay Road Baptist Church where he taught a Men's Bible Class. Jay was also a Mason for 50 years. The visitation service will be held on Sunday May 10, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and the Funeral Service will be held on Monday May 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.. Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, Texas 77055. The Burial Service will be immediately following the Funeral Service on Monday May 11, 2015 at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
