BAKER - January 5th. Walter Vernon, aged 66 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Mary A. Baker, 1705 1st St. S.E., passed away suddenly at the residence Tuesday. Born in Stafford, Kansas, he came to Swift Current, Sask., in 1927 and was employed with the Massey Harris Co., as a blockman until 1931 when he moved to Calgary and was employed with Dench of Canada since 1934, retiring as a Safety Supervisor May 1st, 1959. Besides his loving wife he is survived by one daughter and one son in the USA, two sisters, Mrs. John Ankerhaltz [sic], Hutchinson, Kansas, Mrs. Earl Aldrich, Plevna, Kansas, one brother, Charles Everett Baker, McCoy, Oregon. Services at LEYDEN'S "Chapel of Remembrance," Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Interment, family plot, Queen's Park Cemetery.
