They came to north Idaho in 1971 where he was a heavy duty mechanic for Idaho Forests for many years until his retirement at the age of 65. He loved the great northwest outdoors of northern Idaho including the magnificent scenery and wildlife.
Surviving him are his wife of 71 years, Evelyn; his sons Roy and wife Susan; Dave and Dan and his wife Marian; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Boundary Baptist Church; interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
