On 30 Nov 1950 while serving in Unit 38 of the 2nd Infantry Division as an "field artillery cannoneer", PFC Massie was captured by the North Koreans and taken to Ch'ang Song POW camp. He was repatriated on 24 Aug 1953 and discharged from service 27 Oct 1953.
