The Rev. William Linn married first Rebecca Blair, daughter of Rev. John Blair and Elizabeth (a/k/a Susan) Durburrow, the daughter of John Durburrow of Philadelphia, said to have been an English merchant there.

The Rev. John Blair and Elizabeth Durburrow married in 1745, had twelve children, seven of whom survived to maturithy:

1. William Lawrence Blair, b. 1750-1754

2. Judge Samuel Blair, married Mary Ward

3. Rebecca Blair, b. 1751-1757, married Rev. William Linn

4. Rev. John Durburrow Blair, b. 1759, d. 1823

5. Judge James Blair, b. 1762, married Elizabeth Preston

6. Elizabeth, married ___________ Burrows

7. Hannah Hodge Shippen Blair, d. August 29, 1831, buried near her brother John in Shockoe Cemetery, Richmond.

-Hannah Linn b. April 15, 1792, baptised June 24, 1792, d. Jan.2, 1846; m. Charles R. O'Hara

-Sarah Livingston Linn b. May 14, 1795 d. Sep. 24, 1840; m. John W. Peters

The "New York Daily Gazette" August 19, 1794, and many other newspapers at the time ran the following obituary: 'Died on Friday the 15th, in the 40th year of her age, Mrs. Rebecca Linn, wife of the Reverend Doctor Linn, and the third daughter of the late Rev. John Blair, ...has left her family and numerous acquaintances to mourn the loss of an affectionate relative and friend."
