Mrs. Sanders was born in Ottawa on April 26, 1928, the daughter of Francis and Nellie (Haff) Maltas. She married Roy James Sanders in Streator on June 3, 1946.
She worked at Owens Glass Company in Streator and at the Ottawa Township High School cafeteria. She also worked for the City of Ottawa Recreation Department for over 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Sanders; by a daughter, Gladys (Chuck) Clairmont of Ottawa; by two sons, Ronald (Yang) Sanders of Brandon, Fla. and Ralph (Lori) Sanders of Ottawa; by 13 grandchildren; and by 16 great-grandchildren; by two sisters, Marjorie Ott and Leila Seaborn, both of Ottawa; and by a brother, Dale Maltas of Marseilles.
An infant daughter, Sandra Sanders, four brothers, Donald Maltas, Arnold Maltas, Gene Maltas, and Floyd Maltas, and a sister, Dorothy Ferguson, died previously.
