His obituary states that he died on June 4th in Ilo, Peru where he had been working for 14 years as a supervisor for the Southern Peru Copper Co. The US Foreign Service Report of the Death of an American Citizen related that he died a 5:22 pm on 4 June 1972 at the Southern Peru Copper Corp Hospital in Pueblo Nuevo, Ilo, Peru of Cardio Respiratory Collapse.

William K. Hudson, 54, died June 4th in Ilo Peru. A native of
Globe; he had been working for 14 years as a supervisor for
the Southern Peru Copper Company. Mr. Hudson attended
school in Globe. Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in
Desert View Chapel, Mesa. Burial was held in Mountain View
Memorial Gardens, Mesa. He is survived by his wife Patricia
of Ilo, five daughters; Patti of Ilo, Mrs. Marie Nichols and
Mrs. Vicki Brenner both of Mesa. Mrs. Nikki Reidhead of
Kearny and Mrs. Georgia Carroll of Aberdeen, Washington.
Son Barry of Hayden; mother Mrs. Elsie Newton of Phoenix.
