Obituary for Beulah Boland --

Beulah May Boland, 40, of rural Lucerne died Feb. 15 at her home.

The daughter of Elva Loyd and Virgie Iola Freeborn Allen, she was born Sept. 2, 1940, in the Chariton community of Putnam County. In September of 1960, she married Wayne Daniel in Germany. On Aug. 4, 1978, she married Russell Boland in Unionville, who survives.

She lived in Germany for about one year before moving to Colorado, where she resided for several years. She then moved to Putnam County, where she had lived for the past eight years. She owned and operated a restaurant in Lucerne for some time.

She is survived by her husband, Russell; four sons, Wayne Daniel, David Cunningham Boland, Michael Cunningham Boland, and Mark Cunningham Boland, all of the home; three daughters, Sandra Daniel of the home, Mrs. James Moots of Lemons, and Mrs. Don Dimmitt of Kirksville; her father, Elva Allen of Unionville; maternal grandparents, Charles Freeborn of Moulton, IA, and Minnie Freeborn of Centerville; two brothers, Charles Allen of Ft. Meyers, FL and Thomas Allen of Lucerne; four sisters, Mrs. Wilbur Peckham of McPherson, KS, Mrs. Kendall Tompkins of Colorado Springs, CO, Mrs. Orval Mendenhall of Swan, IA, and Mrs. Jack Oden of Unionville; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother; paternal grandparents; and one infant brother.

Funeral services were held Feb. 17 at the Husted Funeral Home in Unionville, with the Rev. Sammy Valantine officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Herman Cemetery in northeast Putnam County.
