He was born April 5, 1908, in Battle Creek, Iowa, to Virgil and Nellie Morgan Martin. He married Masel Brown on Sept. 1, 1929.
He was a distributor for Sinclair Refining Company, worked for Cabax Lumber Co. and The Register-Guard in Eugene, and was an apartment manager in Cottage Grove.
Survivors include four daughters, Dwan Carter of Bonita Springs, Fla., Kay Drew of Medford, Masel "Mimi" Meinhardt of Jacksonville and Cheryl Carter of Portland; a son, A. Lynn Martin of Adelaide, Australia; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. His wife and a son, Jerry, died previously.
