Arthur "Freddy" Abronzino, 92, of Rocky Hill, beloved husband for 53 years of Margaret (Amaio) Abronzino, died Sunday May 3, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Italy, son of the late Michael and Olimpia (Trudo) Abronzino and had lived in the greater Hartford area for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, Freddy was a baker for over 50 years with a number of bakeries. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II, a member of the VFW Post 7827 Wethersfield, and a communicant of St. Luke's Church. Besides his wife he is survived by a son Arthur Abronzino, Jr. and his wife Kerri of Wethersfield, and a daughter, Elizabeth Varca and her husband Charles Varca, Jr. of Wethersfield, two grandchildren, Anthony and Nicole Varca and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Umberto and John Abronzino. The funeral will be Thursday, May 7, 2015, 9:15 am from the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am in St. Luke's Church, 66 Bolton St. Hartford. Burial with full military honors will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
