∼Dorothy Virginia Acosta passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the age of 89. She was born in Alexandria, Virginia on April 19, 1926 to Raymond and Ruth McKenney.
She loved country music whether singing along or dancing to it and she loved her country music friends.
The joy of her life was time spent with her family; annual camping trips on her birthday, Halloween costume parties, fishing trips and traveling with her sons and daughters. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her entertaining spirit, her numerous clichés like " grant me patience Lord, but hurry!" and just her generous love for her family and all those in her circle. She would want us all to carry on with love and laughter.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her twin sister Doris V. Beck; brother Ashton Mike McKenney and her infant son Tony Acosta, Jr.
She is survived by six children, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
