Services for Oxford Resident to Be Conducted at Baptist Church
Funeral services for M. H. Toland, age 83, who died at his residence on Gray Street in Oxford Tuesday morning, will be conducted at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Oxford Baptist Church by the Rev. W. K. E. James.
Mr. Toland was a resident of Oxford for 50 years and an active church worker, holding membership in the Baptist Church. He was born at Brush Springs in Clay County and was an uncle of Senator Hugo L. Black.
Surviving are two sons, J. Curry and Robert A. Toland of Texas; four daughters, Miss Ethel Toland, Oxford; Mrs. C. L. Hail, Chattanooga; Mrs. Willis W. Grist, Atlanta, and Mrs. E. W. Methvin, Abilene, Tex., and two brothers, B. C. Toland, Millerville, and J. G. Toland, Woodsbury, Texas.
