Floyd T. Allen was a member of the medical detachment of the 194th Tank Battalion. He cared for the wounded and dying from December 1941 until April 9, 1942. He took part in the Bataan Death March and was held as a Prisoner of War from April 1942, in the Philippines and later Japan. He was liberated in September 1945.
