April graduated from Hennessey High School in 1993. She was salutatorian of her graduating class. She then attended Oklahoma State University for three and one half years before transferring to OU Health and Allied Sciences where she earned a degree in Radiology in 1999. She was an Academic All Stater and a member of Kappa Delta Sorority.
April was employed at Singletary Oncology Center Dosimetry Department in Thomasville, GA at the time of her death.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hennessey.
She married Justin Barber, in the Bahamas, on August 4, 1999.

The funeral for April Stacy nee Lott Barber, 27, will be at 1:30 PM, Friday, August 23, 2002, at the First Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Don Rogers. Burial will follow at Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
