His wife survives along with one son, James (and Gloria) Briggs, and two daughters, Mrs. Mary Morris and Mrs. Catherine Miller; and one sister Doris Thompson of Galesburg.
Besides his parents preceding him in death, he also lost two brothers, Wayne and Eugene, and three sisters, Marian, Betty and Darlene.
He was a self-employed repair contractor with his brother Gene for over 20 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
