George L. Martin, 89, of the Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown, formerly of Cypress Street, Middletown, died Wednesday in Community General Osteopathic Hospital.

He retired as an engineer from the Steelton-Highspire Railroad; was a National Guard veteran; and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Swatara Twp., Steelton-Swatara F&AM Lodge 775 and Harrisburg Consistory.

He was the widower of Hope Morrett Martin. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara A. Anderson of Middletown; three sons, Robert L. of Oberlin, William A. of Steelton and Richard L. of Dauphin; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in his church. Burial will be in Baldwin Cemetery, Swatara Twp.

Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church.

Stone Funeral Home, Steelton, is handling arrangements.
