John Haigh Anderson was the son of Thomas McKeen Anderson and Mary Ann (Toland) Anderson. He was the oldest of four children: John, Marshall, James and Esther. John married Crissie (McCleary) Bullington, a widow with four children, (Amos, Bartley, Alta and Sina) on 9 September 1908 in Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. He had no children, but accepted his step-children as his own and they used the name of Anderson until they were adults. John was a car painter and he worked on the Railroad and was very proud of the many tobacco spitting contests he won among his co-workers.

SERVICES IN KANSAS FOR JOHN H ANDERSON
Graveside services for John Haigh Anderson, 97, of Guthery {sic = Guthrie}, Okla., will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Dunlap Cemetery in Rose Hill, Kan., under direction of Smith Funeral home of Guthery.
A resident of Guthery for one year, formerly of Ponca City and Edmond, Okla., Mr. Anderson died Wednesday at Guthery Nursing Center. He was a former employee of Rock Island Railroad. He was born June 29, 1881, in McGovern, Pa.
Surviving are one daughter, Alta duPont, El Monte, Calif,; one sister, Esther Clements of Anaheim, Calif.; seven grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
