She was born in Four Oaks, NC, on December 29, 1931, the daughter of the late Bennie and Bessie Baker Batson.
Mrs. Willett was affiliated with Belks for over twenty-five years in Raleigh and Wilmington. She was loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister; she will live on in the hearts that knew her and will never be forgotten.
Surviving are four children, Robert Ray James and wife Helen of Wilmington, NC, Gregory James of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Kimberly Gipson of Tonapah, NV, and Joanna Rudkin and husband Tony, also of Wilmington, NC; a sister, Juanita Riggs of Wilmington, NC; a brother, Clifton Batson of Washington, DC; six grandchildren, Bettina, Brandon, Heidi, Nicole, Kaylee and Keith; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2005, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel, by Reverend Andy Ickes officiating. Entombment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
