Denise, as she was known to everyone, was born on January 31, 1947 in Wallace, Idaho. She was raised in Everett, Washington; her family had a vacation home in Idaho and she spent time in both places.

Denise was the first-born child of Robert Emil Sayko and Edith Mae Roberts Sayko who preceded her in death. Denise is survived by a brother, Mark (Lisa), of Whidby Island, WA.

She is also survived by her husband, R. Landau DeLaguna and her 2 children Candace Testa and Justin (Amy) Testa, two grandchildren Courtney Testa and Joshua Testa. She was previously married to John Testa and Lyle Tautfest.

Denise and Landau were married in 2005 and Denise often said that Landau "is the love of my life". She and Landau, who lived in the Denver area for many years, had many adventures, traveling to New York and Hawaii; they always made the trip back to Everett, Washington at least once a year to see her kids, brother and parents. They spent New Year's Eve 1999 in Mexico, welcoming in the new millennium, on a beach under the moonlight. Denise said it was lovely and peaceful.

Denise was an electrologist in the Denver area for about 25 years, having built up a strong practice with many happy clients. She made friends so easily, that I dare say many of her clients called her "friend". Denise had a varied career, working for years at Royal Photo/King Soopers photo developing, as a truck driver and, among other things, a landlady. Denise loved animals and was passionate about many causes...she was especially concerned with the poor and the environment. Ann Denise had a heart of gold.

Denise died at home, in the arms of her loving husband, on May 21, 2013 in Englewood Colorado after a short battle with cancer. She fought the disease as long as she could but it was a terminal cancer and victory was not to be hers this time. Ever the conservationist - Denise was buried at sea by the Neptune Society. She is missed by all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, dear friend.
