Veteran of the Spanish American War; Central Committee man of the Republican Party for many years. His father established Dalgity Iron Works where Andrew worked. He and his brother took over management after James' death. Then he worked as a mail carrier, then in the county clerk's office under Couch Clinton and later under William Brooks. Retired in 1953
Services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church by Rev John Dalgity, S. J. of St Michael in Spokane,and the son of Andrew and Harriet. Thirty-three honorary pallbearers presided plus the six casket bearers.
He was also survived by two daughters and a sister, all of Clatsop county.
