Olson, Charlotte "Charlie"
Charlotte "Charlie" Olson, age 74, formerly of Manitowoc, passed away Saturday, May 9, at Wesley Manor, Dothan, Ala. She was born Oct. 14, 1940, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Robert and Elsie (Schamburek) Bennington.
She graduated from Valders High School in 1958. On May 14, 1960, she married Ross R. Olson, at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Whitelaw. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1977. Charlotte enjoyed reading, playing bingo, bird watching, tending to her house plants and flowers, puzzle books and cats. She also attended Sunday Mass weekly via radio.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry (Keith) Gilbert, June (Todd) Chase, three grandchildren, John (Heidi Butz) Gilbert, Robert Chase, Julia Chase, one great-granddaughter, Kara Gilbert, all of Manitowoc: one sister Diane Svacina, Reedsville, Wis.: one brother-in-law, Jerel Olson, Texas: nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Ross; one sister, Carol Bennington-Keil; three brothers-in-law, Donald Svacina, Donald Olson, Jan Olson; an infant daughter, Kim; aunts and uncles.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Ann Scherwood, for the many years of support and friendship.
Upon the deceased request there will not be a prayer service or funeral.
