Mike was the son of Richard C. and Lillian (Makosky) Beauchamp. He was raised in Flat Rock and was a 1973 graduate of Gladstone High School. Following high school, Mike enrolled at Bay de Noc Community College where he received his associate degree in diesel mechanics.
On Oct. 15, 1977, Mike was united in marriage to Karla Sturdy at St. Anthony Church in Wells. Together Mike and Karla purchased the Beauchamp Family Farm in Flat Rock where they made their home and became the third generation Beauchamp family to own and operate the family farm. In the mid 1980s, Mike retired from farming to accept a position at NorthStar, where he worked as a lead technician testing dairy milk. Mike and Karla were instrumental in the development of "Beauchamp's Grove Cross Country Track," located on their property in Flat Rock, and are proud to host the 2015 U.P. Finals Cross Country meet this fall. Mike was a member of the U.P. Garden Tractor Pullers and was the announcer for the past several years. He enjoyed cheering for the Detroit Lions and Tigers, working outdoors, raising chickens and photography.
In addition to his loving wife, Karla, Mike was survived by: daughter, Melissa Beauchamp, brother, Roger (Tammie) Beauchamp, sister, Carol Flemal and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
