She was born on 2/20/1920 in Watertown, daughter of the late Harold C. and Merle Howk Jebo. She graduated from Potsdam HS in 1938 and the Crane School of Music. She continued her graduate studies at SUNY Albany and SUNY Potsdam.
She married Dr. Roger C. Hannahs on 8/10/1942 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Potsdam. They were both active musicians in the Watertown and Ithaca areas, eventually settling in Saratoga Springs
She taught music for 20 years in the public school system in Brant Lake, Saratoga Springs, Waterford and Amsterdam, NY. She retired from teaching in 1981.
She was survived by four daughters, Mrs. Gary (Katherine) Whipple, Mrs. Jerry (Jennifer) Scarano, Mrs. Wayne (Cynthia) Reedy, and Jocelyn Hannahs; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband; two sisters, Betty Kimber and Nancy Shatraw, and her parents.
