Frederick Joseph Salerno was the son of native New Yorker Joseph F. Salerno and his wife, Italian immigrant, Elvira L Socci-Salerno. His father Joseph was of Italian descent, born in New York City and his mother was born in Italy.
Frederick had three older sisters, Helen Victoria Salerno-Ruquet of the Bronx who married Edward Ruquet, Susan M. Salerno and Dorothy A. Salerno, as well as a younger sister Grace Rita Salerno-DiRico-Eisberg-Dunn and younger brother Arthur Salerno.
Freddie worked as a mover his entire life.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy Salerno who died in 1986 and his cherished sister Helen Victoria Salerno-Ruquet who died in 1980 and brother-in-law Edward Ruquet.
Freddy was survived by his beloved daughter Margaret.
