Walter A. Daniel, 82, of 816 W. Main St., died unexpectedly at 7 a.m. today in Caylor-Nickel Clinic, Bluffton, Ind.
He was born Sept. 15, 1892, in Beckley, W. Va., a son of Hugh and Marsha Daniel.
Survivors include his widow, the former Catherine M. Bryant, whom he married June 13, 1951; a son, Walter Jr. of New Orleans; several half-brothers and sisters and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles.
Mr. Daniel was manager of Van Wert West Apartments and a retired yard conductor of the New York Central Railroad. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Brotherhood of Railway Employees. He was also a life member of the Elks Lodge.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Brickner Funeral Home. Friends may call in the funeral home after 7 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Brickner Funeral Home for Walter A. Daniel, 82, of 816 W. Main St. The Rev. William Stewart will officiate with burial in Woodland Cemetery.
Mr. Daniel died unexpectedly at 7 a.m. Saturday in Caylor-Nickel Clinic, Bluffton, Ind.
An Elks memorial services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
