Services for Archie Beckham, 72, of 201 Glover St. were held Wednesday, Nov. 9, in Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with John E. Beckham, Terry Beckham, John Logsdon, Sherman Osbon, Riley Coffey, Robert Carpenter, Terrance Logsdon and Jeff Carpenter serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Orren Singleton, Houston Winnett, Johnnie Locklear, Dr. Mike Locklear, Jesse Simmons, Gordie Clapp, Earl Clapp and members of the Hudson Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.

Mr. Beckham died Tuesday, Nov. 7, in Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.

He was bom Aug. 24, 1916, in Hopkins County, the son of John and Lucy Sheppard Beckham. He married Fannie Lou Patman in Sulphur Springs on Sept. 17, 1939. She survives.

He was a retired cattleman, was a member of First Baptist Church and was a World War n U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.

Other survivors include a daughter, Patsy Beck of Sulphur Springs; three brothers, Rilley A. Beckham of Sulphur Springs, Clyde Beckham of Plainview and J.R. Beckham of Sulphur Springs; three sisters, Nettie Lou Osbon of Fort Worth, Kate Coffey of Sulphur Springs and Grace Campbell of Sulphur Springs; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mozell Logsdon.
