Ruth Ann Cunningham died Friday, May 22, 2015, at Oklahoma Heart Hospital South following complications from open heart surgery. Ruth was born August 15, 1933, in Enid, Oklahoma to Art and Fern (Scates Ferguson) Brannon.
On October 11, 1952, she married Robert Dale "Bob" Cunningham, in Enid where he was serving in the Air Force and, during their 61 year marriage, lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Florida and Mississippi. They retired in Midwest City and enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., especially Hawaii. Ruth was the loving mother of daughter Mary Faustermann and her husband Darrin, daughter Barbara Kidder and her husband Mike, and son Jerry Cunningham, who preceded her in death. She was also the proud grandmother of Jeremy Howard, Steven Kidder, and Eric Howard and great-grandmother of Nickolas Howard and Jayden. In addition to her parents and son, Ruth was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers. She leaves behind her sister Lois Ransford, step-daughter Rugena Lemons and her family, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 5005 S.E. 29th Street, Del City, on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. The family is grateful to the many doctors, nurses, volunteers and staff members at Oklahoma Heart Hospital South who cared for Ruth during her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Oklahoma Heart Hospital South in memory of Ruth Ann Cunningham.
