Mary (Louise) Brockenbrough was born (day unlisted) in Jul 1881 in James River, Rockbridge Co., Virginia, to farmer Frank and Sallie Brockenbrough who resided in James River. Per the 1881 Natural Bridge, Rockbridge Co., Virginia Register of Births, p 351, line 11.

"Cards were issued Thursday morning by Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Brockenbrough of Lexington, to the marriage of their eldest daughter, Miss Mary Louse Brockenbrough, to Robert Leight Owen, of Lexington. The ceremony is to take place Wednesday evening, February 12th, at 8:30 o'clock, in the Lexington Presbyterian church." Published in the Staunton Daily News, Vol 11, #3206, dated 6 Feb 1902.

"Marriages In Lexington. Lexington, Va., Feb. 12 —A beautiful church marriage took piace this evening at 8:30 o'clock at the Lexington Presbyterian church, the contracting parties being Mias May Louise Brockenbrough, eidest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F H. Brockenbrough, and Robert Leigh Owen, a prominent hardware deaier of this place. Rev. Dr. Thornton Whaling, the pastor of the church, officiated, and Mrs. M. D. Edmunds presided at the organ, playing the wedding march from Mendelssohn as the party entered and from Lohengrin as they retired. The church was beautifuliy decorated, the color effect being a rainbow. The bride was charmingly gowned in crepe de chine with pearl and chiffon trimmings. She wore a tuile veil, carried bride's roses, and her ornaments were pearls. The maid of honor, Miss Nell Brockenbrougb, sister of the bride, was dressed in yellow chiffon, satin trimmings and pearl ornaments. The best man was Roy Mitcheil, of Brownsburg, Va. The bridesmaids were Miss Rosa Johnaton Tucker, Lexington, and Miss Caral Weliford, Warsaw, dressed in lavender organdy; Miss Alene Paxton, Natural Bridge, blue organdy; Miss Etiza Dillon and Miss Estelle Paxton, Indian Rock, pink organdy; Miss Isadore Pike, Washington, and Mrs. M B. Corse, Lexington, green organdy; Miss Bettie Wilson, Charlestown, W. Va , and Miss May Haskins, Lexington, white organdy. All carried white roses. The groomsmen who acted as ushers, were Messrs. Cuthbert Powell, Washington, D. C., Owen Wilson and William Owen, South Boston; J. Randoiph Tucker, Edgar Waddell, Charles Spencer, Edward Booker, M. B. Corse, Charles Brockenbrough, Lexington and Dr. McGuire Newton, Richmond. After the marriage a reception was given the bridal party by Colonel and Mrs. T. M. Semmes, of the Virginia Military Institute. Mr. and Mrs. Owen left on a special train at 11 o'clock for Staunton, where they took train for a northern trip, ineiuding New York and other cities." On 13 Apr 1981 she died from pneumonia at Stonewall Jackson Hospital, in Lexington, Virginia. The informant was Mrs. Matthew W Paxton. VIrginia CD 81011427
