Loretta L. (Ott) Schumann, 89, of Loves Park, passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009 at 11:47 a.m., at her daughter’s home, surrounded by family as the Good Lord took her to be with him. She lived many years in Loves Park relocating from Wisconsin. Married Gotthold C. Schumann who was her “best ever” fishing partner. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and spent many amazing years as a devoted, loving mother of her 11 children, grandmother to 39 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and always remembered everyone on their special occasions! She enjoyed years of volunteering at Walter Lawson Children’s Home, playing cards, Scrabble, crocheting, and gardening. Many thanks to Dr. J. Sturm and staff, Dr. Jon Monkmeyer and Sharon, along with Frankie from Community Health Care, Penny with Comfort Keepers, and VNA/Hospice for their loving and caring support. Survivors include 5 daughters: Carol (Joseph) Hagen, Donna Ploum, Sandi Kokas, Lorrie (Jerry) Berg, and Pam (Norm) Sanders, 6 sons; Larry (Pat) Ott, Donald (Denise) Ott, Kenneth (Marylou) Ott, Butch Schumann, Alonzo Schumann, and 2 stepchildren; Kathy (Brian) Lytle, and Richard (Jane) Schumann.
