HAZEN - Calvin Cahoon, 77, Hazen, died Sept. 19, 2005, at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Friday, Sept. 23, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Stanton, with the Rev. Marv Mutzenberger officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Stanton.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. MDT Thursday at Seibel Funeral Homes Chapel, Hazen.
Calvin was born July 1, 1928, the youngest child of Martin and Eva (Stanley) Cahoon. He was born and raised, and educated in rural Oliver County. He took over the family farm and lived there until moving to Hazen in 2001. He married Nancy Hall April 1, 1951, and together they had seven children. March 30, 1978, he married Bonnie Long.
Calvin's first love was his family; they were his pride and joy. He enjoyed traveling and seeing new places, going south for the winter and playing cards with family and friends. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Calvin is survived by his wife, Bonnie, Hazen; two sons, Mark Cahoon, Baldwin, and Miles and Jolene Cahoon, Bismarck; four daughters, Merylin Hintz, San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Sherry and Dan Walters, Laguna Niguel, Calif., Sindee and Bruce Berger, Hazen, and Linda and Steve Price, Stanton; one sister, Loretta and Wilbert Beckman, Hannover; one sister-in-law, Pearl Cahoon, Stanton; and 13 grandchildren, Erica and Adrian Najara, Florida, Cal Cahoon, Texas, Brandee and Gina Hintz, California, Daniel, Lucas, Trenton and Alyssa Cahoon, Bismarck, Lindsey and Kayla Berger, Hazen, and Cole, Evan and Calla Price, Stanton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Martin; his brothers, Melvin and Darhl Cahoon; and his sister, Ethel Benjamin.
