Mrs. Mary Jean Gordon Sisk, 88, of Winston-Salem died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born August 30, 1926 in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late Roy Fennell and Irene Rose Gordon. Mrs. Sisk was a member of First United Church of Christ and was retired from Wachovia Bank and Trust Company. She and her husband were beekeepers and active members of The Forsyth County Beekeepers Association. She loved spending time at the beach with her family and enjoyed her golden years living at Arbor Ridge at Stanleyville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. “Gene” Sisk, two twin grandchildren, Jennifer and David Sisk, two brothers, Roy Gordon, Jr. and Dwight Gordon; one brother-in-law, White Hooker and one sister-in-law, Emma Gordon. Survivors include three children, Tommy G. Sisk and wife, Peggy of Winston-Salem, Sue Bruce and husband, Randy of Rural Hall and Mark E. Sisk and wife, Polly of Asheboro; eight grandchildren, Kelly Creasy and husband, Patrick, Andrew Sisk, Stephanie Staub, Sarah Torkington and husband, Jack, Erik Bruce, Logan Bruce, Andrea Sisk, and Hayden Sisk; four great grandchildren, Parker and Abigail Creasy, Noah Staub, and Liam Torkington; one sister, Ruth Hooker of Fayetteville; two brothers, Charles Gordon and wife, Nancy of Greensboro and Ross Gordon and wife, Angie of Winston-Salem; one sister-in-law, Betsy Gordon of Winston-Salem and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. David L. Crook and Rev. Wayne Linville officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
