Allan A. Steiger, age 90, of Hortonville, died on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at ThedaCare Medical Center in New London. He was born in Fremont at the home of Minnie and Lark Lovejoy on May 4, 1925, the son of the late Alpheus and LaVera(Lovejoy)Steiger. He graduated from Weyauwega High School in 1943. On August 7, 1948, Allan married Phyllis Williams at Hope United Church of Christ in Fremont. Together they had three children Deb, Dave and Dennis. Allan worked at a cheese factory following high school, and later drove semi. He then worked at Universal Foundry in Oshkosh for 21 years. Allan loved to fish, play cards, go camping with his family, and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs. Allan is survived by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis; three children, Deb Muskevitsch, New London; Dave(Pam)Steiger, Hortonville; and Dennis(Sandy)Steiger, New London; nine grandchildren, Jennifer(Andy)Young, Josh(Mindy)Muskevitsch, Jeremy(Kelly)Muskevitsch, Brittney(Ron)Orr, Jason(Special friend, Nissa)Steiger, Brynne(Josh)Hounsell, Crystal(Chad)Elsholtz, Breanna(Josh)Patton and Brandon Steiger; 19 great-grandchildren and another one due on August 2; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Daral(Sharon)Steiger, Weyauwega; a brother-in-law, George(Dori)Williams, Weyauwega; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, and his dog, Peanut. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Romy Muskevitsch. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Hope United Church of Christ, 8950 Alpine Rd., Fremont. Rev. Alex Tychkin will officiate. Inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Visitation will be held on Friday, at the church, from 9:00 AM until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for Hope United Church of Christ.

Allan’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Goedderz and Dr. Schlais, as well as the staff at ThedaCare Medical Center in New London for the wonderful care provided to him. They also wish to thank everyone at St. Joseph Residence for the care and compassion he received during his time there.
