ROYCE B. BLANKENSHIP

Royce B. Blankenship, 69, of San Angelo passed away Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Service were held at 2 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998 at First Christian Church with the Rev. Ben Todd officiating. Burial followed in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Johnson's Funeral Home.

Royce was born June 2, 1928, in Seymour to Lillian and R.B. Blankenship. He was a member of the U.S. Army Air Force from 1946 until 1954. He married Beth Ann Emsoff on Aug. 30, 1958, in Seymour. He was employed by GTE from 1956, until his retirement in 1987. Royce was a Mason in the Blue Lodge No. 604 in Seymour.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. Royce especially loved the mountains of Colorado. Royce attended College Hills Christian Church in San Angelo and was an elder in the church.

He is survived by his wife, Beth, who was his companion in life for 39 years. He is also survived by his children, Jeannie and Frank Day and Royce ``Ikie'' and Annie Blankenship, all of Terral, Okla., and Lee and Missy Blankenship of Flower Mound; grandchildren, Steve and Rhonda Collier of Edmond, Okla., Scott and Stacey Day of Terral and Maggie and Emma Blankenship of Flower Mound; great-grandchildren, Zachary Collier of Edmond and Cassidy Day of Terral; two sisters, Patsy and Bobby Hanna of Seymour and Dorothea and Neal Jameson of Richardson. He also is survived by numerous other loving relatives and dear friends. Pallbearers were Ethan Dennis, Melvin Jennings, Buster Webb, John Myers, Jim Rasor and Allen Gossett.

Memorials may be made to the College Hills
Christian Church Memorial Fund or a favorite charity. The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation to all the friends and family who gave their love and support during Royce's lifetime. He will be greatly missed.
