Peter F Mork Dies; Funeral Is on Tuesday
South Beloit Business man and Manufacturer
Lived Here 30 Years

Peter F Mork, 222 South Eighth Street, South Beloit business man and a resident of this community nearly 30 years, died at 9:25 p.m. Saturday at the City Hospital. He was 77 years old.
While he had been in poor health since 1933, an accidental fall Thursday evening in which he suffered a fractured hip caused his death. He had been sitting on the front porch at the home of his son, H. C. Mork, 105 Hackett Street, and when he arose to go into the house he slipped and fell down the steps and struck the cement sidewalk. He was taken to the hospital, where, because of his condition and his age, he failed to recover.

Was Born in Sweden
Mr. Mork was born Sept. 17, 1861, at Finspong, Sweden. He was the youngest of 10 children. All of his brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
In 1880 he came to this country and he settled at Chicago where he lived until 1910 when he moved to Beloit. He was married to Hedvig J. Alsterlund who died Oct 31, 1923.
When he came to Beloit he purchased the foundry business owned by Slater, Marsden, and Whittemore. He operated that business until he died. In 1923 he purchased the Slater and Tuck factory which included another foundry.

Active in Civic Affairs
Mr. Mork was active in civic affairs in South Beloit. He was an organizer and charter member of South Beloit Business Men's association. He was also a charter member of Odd Fellows at Rogers Park, Ill.
His business activities extended to Walworth where he operated a garage in 1921, 1922, and 1923, and in 1924 he purchased the Inman and Gravdale garage in Beloit. He discontinued his interests in the garage business in 1931.

Survivors are two sons, F. H. Mork of South Beloit and H. C. Mork of Beloit, and two grandchildren David and Richard Mork.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the home. The Rev. Richard E. Swanson will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery, Chicago, at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral Rites Tuesday for Peter F. Mork, 77

South Beloit, IL. Aug 14, - Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Tuesday at his home for Peter F, Mork, 77, 222 south 8th street, Foundry operator who died Saturday night at Beloit Municipal Hospital. The Rev, R.E. Swanson will officiate and burial will be Wednesday at Rosehill Cemetery, Chicago.

Mr. Mork, who had operated the P. F. Mork Foundry at South Beloit since 1911, had been in ill health about five years. He entered the hospital after falling and breaking his hip last Thursday.

A native of Sweden he was born Sept 17, 1891. His wife, the former Hedwig Alsterlund, died in 1923.

Surviving are two sons, Henning of South Beloit, and Fredolph of Beloit and two grandchildren. One son has preceded him in death.
