Mrs. Ross Walker, (maiden name) Cristina Bernard, was born in Hogsthorn, Scotland and came to America at the age of eight years. She married Ross Walker in Albia, Iowa, April 28, 1880. Nine children were born to them, of these three are dead. The six were all here to administer to her during her last illness. She died Saturday, Aug. 8, at 9 a. m., of nervous prostration with complications. The surviving children are Mrs. May Pauline, of Albia; Mrs. Jessie Exline, Chicago; Miss Maude Walker, Davenport; Clyde, Centerville, Madge and Willie, still at home, During the early part of her life she was a Baptist. For the last twelve years she has been a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist church. The funeral was from the late residence, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. J. D. Vannoy, of the Baptist church, and Rev. W. H. Perdew, of the Methodist officiating. Interment was at the Thomasaon cemetery.
