Stanley P. Barrett , 67, of Massachusetts Avenue, a railroad conductor for many years, who retired from Amtrak in 1986, died yesterday at Miriam Hospital.
He was the husband of Dorothy A. (Barrie) Barrett.
Born in New Haven, Conn., a son of the late Patrick and Catherine (Kenny) Barrett, he lived in South Kingstown for 30 years before moving to Cranston 12 years ago.
Mr. Barrett was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and served in the 4th Marine Division. He was wounded on Iwo Jima in the Pacific Theater and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and the National Association of Retired Veterans Railroad Employees.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son.
