Joseph Eugene Eastridge, 98, of Spotsylvania County passed to be with his heavenly father on Wednesday, May 27, 2015.
Mr. Eastridge was born in Ashe County, NC on March 16, 1917 as the eighth of eleven children to Marvin and Ida Osborne Eastridge.
Eugene moved to Virginia in the late 1930’s where he met the love of his life, Ruth Apperson to whom he was married 73 years. After his retirement from FMC he focused on the electrical, heating and air condition business he had already started.
He loved the mountains and camping with his family.  He was a loyal Redskins fan and rarely missed a NASCAR race on television.  Eugene was known for his wonderful sense of humor.  He was a generous loving Christian man and worshipped at Zoan Baptist Church for 62 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Eastridge; daughters Sandra Plummer and husband Tom and Phyllis Robinson and husband Linwood; son Stephen Eastridge; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and sister Blanche Sherbarth.  He was preceded in death by nine of his siblings.
