Hazel Mae Martin, 50, of Crossett died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at her residence. A native of Wilmot, she was a resident of Crossett for the past 25 years, a former employee of the Arkansas Department of Motor Vehicles and a member of Union Baptist Church in Wilmot. She was a 1974 graduate of Wilmot High School and a member of the Eastern Star and Silver Star Chapter 306.


Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Ray Charles Martin; four sons, Marquis, Michael and Kendrick Martin, all of Little Rock, and Ray Charles Martin Jr. and wife Tiffany of Louisville, TX; her mother, Dorothy Vann and husband Verdie of Crossett; 13 brothers, Buford Ramey Jr., Robbie Ramey, Nathaniel Ramey and Troy Ramey, all of Milwaukee, WI, Frank Ramey and Clyde Ramey, both of Kansas City, MO, Mark Ramey and wife Loretta of Belton, MO, Jasper Ramey of Wilmot, Jessie Bell and wife Juanita of San Diego, CA, Verdie Vann Jr. and wife Ramonda of Crossett, Andre Vann and wife Dianne and, Dexter Vann of Rocita, CA and Larry Wilder of Portland, OR; six sisters, Mable Moore and husband Charles of Kansas City, Evelyn Bailey and husband Ronald of Little Rock, Nancy Holloman and husband Eddie of Pine Bluff, Henry Mae Bethea and husband and Trina Vann, all of Crossett, and Tina Robinson and husband Robert of Hamburg; and four grandchildren, Marquis Jr., Janaia, Jamori and Rayna Martin. She was preceded in death by her father, Buford Ramey; and one sister, Margaret Conley.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 19, at 11 a.m. at the Crossett auditorium with Rev. Eddie Montgomery officiating. Burial was at Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. Pallbearers were Buford Jr., Robbie, Frank, Nathaniel, Troy, Mark, Clyde and Jasper Ramey.
