Doris Marie Miller Peairs, 85, died Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at Scottish Rite Park where she was a resident since 1997. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2003 at Dunn's Funeral Home, with burial in Resthaven Cemetery.
Doris was born in a log cabin in Western Nebraska and had lived in Des Moines since 1967. Then moved to the Los Angeles, CA area and retired to Arroyo Grande, CA, then moved back to Des Moines in 1996. Doris was employed as an Executive Secretary for Insurance Company of North America in Des Moines. She was a member of First Christian Church and a founding member of Wakonda Christian Church. She enjoyed watching golf and baseball.
She is survived by her sons, Doug (Eloisa) Miller of El Monte, CA, and Michael (Mary) Miller of Des Moines; stepsons, Rick and Robert Peairs, both of California; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Miller and George "Joe" Peairs.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2003 at Dunn's Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church.
