April 22, 1918 - June 1, 2006

SALEM - Elmer A. McClaughry, 88, was born in Salem, Oregon to Ora and Charlotte. He married the love of his life, Celia Jefferson on February 5, 1939; they were together for 57 years. He farmed onions in the Labish area all of his life, retiring in 1991 to take care of Celia.
The family historian, he encouraged families to write their history. Elmer was a charter member with Brooks RFPD and served as volunteer fireman for 20 years. He was a pioneer of the Sons of Labish and was honored as Man of the Year in 2003. He was an active Mason for 61 years at Gervais Chapter #54.
He is survived by sons, Gerald (Joyce), Phillip (Deb), and Robert (Sandi); daughter, Linda Bergerson (Roger); 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wed., June 7, 2006 at Barrick Funeral Home. Interment will be at City View Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Shriner's or Doernbecher's Hospital. Arrangements are by Barrick Funeral Home.
