Abstract According to the late 1950's tombstone transcriptions Catherine Letitia Heaphy, wife of the late Major Heaphy V.C. and daughter of the late Reverend J. F. Churton, has a tombstone in the cemetery. The Suffrage Centennial Women's Register has Catherine Letitia Heaphy (nee Churton) buried in 1910 in the Anglican section. The map of the Anglican graves has C. Heaphy between Churton and Falwasser at F 6. The New Zealand Herald of 281910 has Katherine Heaphy died 1 August 1910 aged 79 years, widow of Major Charles Heaphy and nee Churton, and buried 3 August 1910 in Symonds Street Cemetery.
