He married Nancy Baker in 1794, probably in Georgia. The Casey family moved from SC to Green Co, GA about 1790. In 1800 the Casey clan moved to Sumner Co, Tn and then on to Smith (now Macon) Co, Tn by 1802. Randolph died there in 1814.

Abraham and his brother, Isaac left and went to Cave-in-Rock, IL, on the banks of the Ohio River, for a few years before moving up to Jefferson Co, IL about 1816. Cave-in-Rock at that time was a hideout for bandits, but was also a popular ferry crossing of the Ohio River for many travelers.

In 1818 they moved to Mt. Vernon, IL.
In 1820 they were living in Caseys Prairie twp, Jefferson Co, IL. Also on the census there were their sons, John Clarke & Green P. Casey, and his brothers Isaac and Zadoc Casey and his sister, Rebecca DePriest.

Abe was a migratory character, so did not obtain much property as some others, but he was so fond of hard money, despising paper currency, that he obtained the sobriquet of "Old Silver."

Their son, Isaac died in Jefferson Co, IL in Nov, 1840.
In 1841, while Abe was visiting his son, John Clarke, in Oregon Co, Mo, he died there. His burial place is unknown at this time.

Son Green P. died in 1857 in Jefferson Co, IL.
Son, John Clarke was still in Oregon County, MO in 1860, but he died in Jefferson Co, IL in 1862. Most likely, he went back to the North after the Civil War broke out in 1861. Oregon County, MO was southern sympathizing and would not have been a good place for him.

Abraham and Nancy had 7 children:
John Clarke, 1795-1862
Clarissa, 1796-1876, m Uriah Hamblen
Green Pennington, 1797-1857
Franklin Smith, 1804-1871
Martin S, 1810-
Elizabeth Ausabel, 1811-?, m Burrell McConnell
Isaac Stewart, 1811-1840
