Lester Leroy Bower was put to death by the state of Texas for the murder of 4 men in Sherman Texas in 1983 on circumstantial evidence only. It is believed by family, friends and his lawyers he did not commit the crime.

Les spent some 31 years on death row in Texas and survived 6 dates of executions set by the courts before being put to death June 3, 2015.

Les is survived by wife Shari, two daughters Leslea Miller, Hollie Frazier, 3 Granddaughters, & one grandson all of Arlington, Texas. He is also survived by his mother Wilma Bower of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father Lester Leroy Bower Sr.

Les was emphatic he be cremated, his ashes taken to Colorado and scattered on the mountain he loved to hunt, putting emphasis on being sure none of the ashes remained in Texas. His wife Shari and her sister followed through with that request.
