Civil War Veteran with Companies M & G, 16th Pennslyvania Cavalry. The 16th was organized in September 1862, Harrisburg PA. The 16th PA fought at the Battles of Chancellorsville, Brandy Station, Gettysburg, Wildreness and Yellow Tavern. The 16 PA was present at Appomattox Court House during General Lee's surrender. The 16th was mustered out of service on August 11, 1865.
