Per his grandchildren (Alson, Ruth and Robert), Henry was a loving, kind and very stubborn man. In the middle of winter, over the objections of his family, 83 year old Henry decided to take a train from Lake Ariel, PA to Detroit, MI, to visit his daughter Minnie's family. He became ill from the drafty train ride and died soon after arrival. At Minnie's insistence, he was brought back home for burial with his wife and mother.
