Mrs. Cynthia Faye "Cindy" Jones,age 55,of 906 North Fifth Ave.,Rome, died Friday morning, May 23,2003, in a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Jones was born on April 8, 1948,the daughter of Floyd and Sadie Otting Ledbetter. She had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County for the greater part of her life and was a 1966 graduate of East Rome High School. Mrs. Jones was a longtime member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and was president of the tenant's association at the High Rise #1. Prior to ill health she was associated with Gambro Health Care. Mrs. Jones loved family gatherings, enjoyed crafts, and was an avid collector of angels and bears, along with Beanie Babies and Barbie dolls.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her mother, Sadie Otting Ledbetter of Rome; father, Floyd Ledbetter of Rome; two aunts, June Otting and Annie Otting, both of Rome; uncle, John Otting of Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be held on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Mount Olive Church with the Rev. Bryan Prance and the Rev. John Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Jennings Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Cynthia was my cousin.
