Tommy Harrison Aldridge, 87, of Scottsville, passed away into Eternal Glory on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Hospice House in Charlottesville, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 26, 1928 in Boone, North Carolina, a son of the late Robert and Minerva Aldridge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Lillian Faye Aldridge; a son, Tommy Harrison Aldridge, Jr.; a brother, Edward Aldridge; and four sisters, Muriel Bellamy, Juanita Mowbray, Vivian Turner, and Paulette Aldridge.

Tommy was a retired Boilermaker. He served his country honorably in both the U.S. Navy and Army and was a Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed gardening and watching Westerns.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Ritz Aldridge; six children, Stephen P. Aldridge, Teresa A. Sims, Thomas E. Aldridge, Richard D. Aldridge, Rhonda G. Mains, and Bonnie F. Barnett; three step-children, Karen S. Bowling, Tony A. Callahan, and Nick A. Callahan; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Allen, Reed, Billy, Bobby, and Hugh Aldridge; three sisters, Udee Payne, Dixie Fields, and Erma Roberts; and a number of extended family members and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Sunday, June 7, 2015, at Antioch Baptist Church in Scottsville by Pastor Dave Vogt. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions in Tommy's memory be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250; Paralyzed Veterans of America, P.O.
