Arlin Joseph Crenwelge, 79, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A funeral mass was celebrated Friday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Enda McKenna officiating.
Mary Ann Murchison was the organist; Rex Domasco, the guitarist, and Donna Durst, the vocalist.
Interment followed in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where a rosary service, led by St. Joseph's Society, was held Thursday evening, Jan. 24.
Crenwelge was born Oct. 10, 1928, in Gillespie County, the son of Oscar H. Crenwelge and Frieda Bertha Jenschke Crenwelge. He married Margaret Stehling on May 5, 1953, in St. Mary's Catholic Church and she survives.
Over the years, Crenwelge had been the owner of a trucking business. He was also a farmer and rancher.
In addition to his wife, Crenwelge is survived by three daughters, three sons and spouses, including Gerald and LaVerne Crenwelge, Susan and Dennis Pehl, Michael Crenwelge, Kathy Crenwelge and Sammy and Laurie Crenwelge, all of Fredericksburg, and Joan and Rodney Eckhardt of Leander.
He is also survived by ten grandchildren; one brother, Kermit Crenwelge, and a sister and brother-in-law, Imogene and Delbert Grona, all of Fredericksburg.
Crenwelge was preceded in death by his parents, as well as a sister, Evelyn Weinheimer.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Society, St. Mary's Parish Capital Campaign or to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Zachery Crenwelge, Pat Stehling, Fernando Jacobo, Wayne Stone, Matthew Eckhardt, Jakob Crenwelge and Gary Weinheimer.
