Nellie Mae Gauss, nee Distler, 83, of Lebanon, IL, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Cedar Ridge Healthcare & Rehab Center in Lebanon, IL.
Nellie was born on November 12, 1931 in O’Fallon, IL. She worked as a Custodian for O’Fallon Township High School, and attended the First United Methodist Church in O’Fallon, IL. She was a former member of the Shiloh Grade School PTO, a former Shiloh Grade School Room Mother, and a Cub Scout Den Mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Gauss; parents, Charles & Mabel Distler, nee Parker; brothers, Clarence Distler, Charles “Boots” Distler, Glenn Distler, Raymond Distler, Russell Distler and Donald Distler; and sister, Florence Waters.
Nellie is survived by her sons, Gary (Glenda) Gauss of Crestwood, MO, and Mark (Robin) Gauss of Springfield, IL; granddaughter, Lauren Gauss of Springfield, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
