Elaine K. (Kollert) Artrip, 67, of Wooster, died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Glendora Health Care Center after an extended period of declining health.

Elaine was born on Oct. 7, 1943 in Doylestown, the daughter of the late Ora and Katherine Kollert. She graduated from Rittman High School in 1961 and on June 17, 1961 she married Ray O. Artrip. They were married for 39 years before Ray died on June 4, 2000. Elaine worked at Rubbermaid for 20 years. She and Ray, adventurous and fun-loving, enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling, especially in Michigan and traveling often on motorcycle.
They were members of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, joining the church in its early years and were involved with youth outings, janitorial services and in organizing the Young at Heart ministry for seniors. After retiring, they move to Lillian, Ala. in the early 1990s. Their life's journey also included being members of Penn Ohio and Mohican Model A Clubs, the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club and Wayne Co. Snowmobile Club. Elaine loved animals and shared her married life with two lucky dogs.

Elaine is survived by two sisters, two brothers, two sister-in-laws, and seven grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all living in other states as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Elaine would want to thank all who visited, prayed and assister her during the past few years of her declining health. A special thanks to her niece Kathy Weaver and her husband Jim, her sisters Beverly and Linda as well as Pastors Olsen and Barrios and her family and church family. To the staff of Hospice, Smithville Western Care Center, Glendora Health Care Center, the many doctors, nurses and medical staffs in Wooster and Cleveland Clinic, your care for Elaine will always be remembered. Murray Funeral Home handled arrangements.
